Retailer gives voice to cause

LOCAL retailer My Size is helping to tackle ovarian cancer by holding a fund-raiser today.

The event will be held in the store in Hargreaves Mall, between 5.30 and 6.30pm.

My Size staff will model the brand’s March catalogue, which customers can order from, with all profits going to Ovarian Cancer Australia.

Store manager Hayley McPherson said it was difficult to recognise the symptoms of ovarian cancer.

“It is one of those things that is very common among women and very scary,” she said. “Unlike breast cancer and other cancers you can’t personally test for it yourself.”

There will be cupcakes for sale and a raffle, with local businesses supporting the cause by donating prizes. Ms McPherson said she was surprised with the support shown by businesses and said it was important to get the word out about ovarian cancer.

Ovarian Cancer Australia is a national non-for-profit organisation dedicated to raising awareness of ovarian cancer, delivering support and advocating for and funding cancer research.
