Sporting groups will receive $10 for every person who enters into the six or 12.4 kilometre courses for adults, or the 1.5 kilometre course for five to 15 year olds, provided they enter more than five people.
They can also donate the money to their chosen charity.
Organiser Karl Hooke said the new structure would allow all sporting clubs to raise money for their club, as opposed to last year, when the money went to the flood-affected Bears Lagoon Serpentine Football Club.
“This year we want to try and entice more people and sporting groups from around the district to be part of it,” he said. “We want to put it out there that it’s a good chance for clubs to get fit and they can use it as part of their pre-season.”
He said he hoped opening the run up to more clubs would ensure they topped last year’s mark of 150 participants.
Pre-registration is available by emailing karlhooke@bigpond.com or phoning 0412 006 736. Registration on the day is open until 9.30am.
