WELL-KNOWN Bendigo man Claude Critchley will face court next month to contest charges he inappropriately touched a person under 16-years-old.
Critchley, 57, who is familiar to many people in Bendigo’s CBD, has been charged with two counts of an indecent act with an underage person.
He faced the Bendigo Magistrates Court briefly yesterday but his case was adjourned to a contest mention on March 6.
In March last year Critchley was given a 12-month community corrections order after pleading guilty to a number of charges of anti-social behaviour, including stealing a drink from a six-year-old girl.
In his ruling at the time, Magistrate Ian von Einem said he would give Critchley one more chance to stay out of trouble with the help of his support network.
The corrections order included supervision and psychiatric assessments.
