Pair escape injury after rollover near Marong

TWO occupants of a car that rolled on Calder Highway near Marong last night were lucky to walk away with only minor injuries.

A female in her late 20s lost control of the car when going around a corner on the road about 8pm yesterday.

The car hit an embankment and rolled onto its roof, before landing back on its wheels.

The two occupants were taken to Bendigo Health with minor cuts and bruises.

Bendigo highway patrol’s Senior Constable Bruce Slimmon said alcohol and speed were not believed to be factors in the crash.

“We don’t believe speed was a factor. It was more driver error than anything else,” he said.
