CARL Barron will kickstart performances at The Capital for 2013.
Barron, who hasn't performed in Bendigo since 2008, has sold out all four sessions to his new show A One Ended Stick .
“Tickets for Carl’s first 2 shows went on sale in November last year and because tickets sold so well a third show was added in early December and a fourth just prior to Christmas with all selling out," The Capital manager, David Lloyd, said.
“Ticket sales indicate that this show has attracted 2,000 people from not only the Bendigo area but also from surrounding areas such as Castlemaine, Sunbury, Ararat, Birchip, Cohuna, Echuca, Wodonga, Swan Hill and as far away as parts of southern NSW which is terrific news.
“It just goes to show that people in our wider region have a growing appetite for the performing arts and The Capital is looking forward to a big 2013 with a range of exciting performances set to take place."
In the last financial year more than 46,000 people attended around 190 performances and more than 22,000 attended 330 events at The Capital.
Other shows coming to Bendigo this year include:
- Oh What A Night! A musical tribute to Frankie Valli and the Four Season;
- Colin Hay;
- The Australian Army Band Melbourne – Morning Music;
- Unusualist Raymond Crowe; and
- Direct from China The Legend of Kung Fu.
