La Trobe O-Week party attracts stellar line-up

AUSSIE hip hop star Drapht and electro group Bombs Away will headline this year’s Bendigo La Trobe University Orientation Week Launch Party on February 26.

One thousand tickets go on sale today for the all-ages event at the Bendigo campus, organised by the Bendigo Student Association and the Universal on McCrae nightclub.

Free buses will ferry revellers to the McCrae Street nightclub after the show for an after party.

BSA events manager Jenelle Holmberg said it was a coup to get two big Australian acts to perform at the university and invited not only new and old students, but the Bendigo community to attend.

“It’s pretty big for Bendigo and I expect tickets to sell out pretty quickly,” she said.

“It’s the biggest event we’ve had of its kind in Bendigo since Flo Rida in 2011 and Rogue Traders before that in 2006.”

Tickets go on sale at noon today and are available at www.oztix.com.au, the La Trobe Student Union office and New Generation Clothing.
