They are particularly interested in any photographs or video that may have been taken of the area while people were evacuating. The fire is believed to have started at about 11.30am.
Police say cause of the fire is still being investigated and Arson and Explosives Squad detectives are expected to go to the area later later on Saturday.
The Coroner is investigating the death of man found in a burnt out vehicle in the Seaton area about 5pm on Friday. The man's name has not been released.
So far, the fire has destroyed nine properties in the Gippsland area and several permanent and non-permanent dwellings at the Glenmaggie Caravan Park.
