A WOMAN has died and her male passenger is recovering in hospital after their car collided with a truck at Elmore yesterday.
The incident happened at 10.20am on the Runnymede School Road.
The deceased woman, believed to be in her 70s, was driving a black Nissan Tiida in wet conditions south on the Northern Highway.
An International brand truck travelling east on Runnymede School Road hit the driver’s side of the car.
The woman died at the scene and the male passenger was taken to Bendigo hospital with serious injuries.
He was in a stable condition at the time the Advertiser went to print.
The truck driver was uninjured in the collision.
A police spokesperson said the Bendigo highway patrol was investigating the crash and looking at “all lines of enquiry”. The spokesperson said anyone who witnessed the crash can call Crimestoppers on 1800 333 000.
