The arrests relate to alleged armed robberies at gaming venues and post offices in Clayton, Keysborough and Braeside during the past two months.
During the December 28 robbery, at least three men armed with machetes stormed the Clayton Australia Post office, frightening staff and customers before they escaped with cash.
Detectives and heavily armed police made the arrests at 3.30am on Sunday morning in Springvale.
A police spokeswoman said the men were currently assisting police with enquiries.
