It’s always great to see so many people share the spirit of giving, especially as a lot of people are uncertain about the economic future.
All those involved were very happy by the quality of gifts donated at Target stores this year.
The nice thing about this appeal is that Australians specifically give to those in their own communities who are doing it harder.
Operation Santa is staffed by thousands of volunteers throughout Australia who collect gifts and donations at Christmas trees placed at the front of Target stores.
The gifts are then distributed to young and old, male and female, in a massive campaign designed to reach recipients in time for Christmas.
Thanks to the generosity of the community, UnitingCare and Target have collected and distributed more than 1.7 million gifts in the past 20 years.
Operation Santa finished on Monday, December 24, 2012.
We look forward to experiencing Bendigo’s warm hand of generosity supporting those in need again in 2013.

UnitingCare Victoria and Tasmania Director
