Santa tram proves popular on Christmas Eve

THE jolly man in red took time out from his busy schedule on Christmas Eve to ride Bendigo’s Santa Tram.

A group of lucky children met with Santa, telling him what they’d like for Christmas, after catching the Santa Tram from the Bendigo Tramways Depot and Workshop.

Santa sang Christmas carols with the children, handed out gifts and posed for photos before rushing off to feed his reindeers.

Jaime Hill from Maiden Gully said her children Oliver and Charlie had loved meeting Santa. “We missed out on doing the Santa Tram last year so we jumped at the chance to do it this year,” she said. “It’s really fantastic and they loved riding the tram.”

The Santa Tram ran on Sunday and Monday.
