STAFF at Williamson Street 24-hour General Store have been left shaken after an attempted robbery.

Police believe two men entered the store in the early hours of this morning wanting to steal money from a safe.

Store owner John Giles said a male employee was threatened with a rock about 4am.

"Two guys came in with hoods and things over their faces," he said.

Investigations are continuing.
