The choir’s final concert of the year will be Bach’s Christmas Oratorio at the Bendigo Town Hall this Sunday.
Choir secretary Philippa Johanson said she was hoping the performance would be even bigger than their performance of Handel’s Messiah last year.
“It was a huge undertaking and sell-out performance last year,” she said.
“The town hall was packed and it was a wonderful night. I think this year’s will be particularly exciting as well.”
The chamber choir is made up of local choir singers from Bendigo and Castlemaine, and has been operating for more than 30 years.
This weekend’s performance will feature two of Bach’s best known cantatas for the Christmas season.
Ms Johanson said the uplifting melodies in a relaxed environment of the town hall would be a contrast to the usual rush of the Christmas season.
“It should be a wonderful afternoon.
We’re trying to establish a really lovely Christmas concert every year.”
Tickets are $25 ($20 concession) available from The Capital or at the door on Sunday.
