White Ribbon day sends an important message

I was a victim of domestic violence.

I took the plunge and ran, more than a year ago.

It was the hardest thing to do, but it couldn’t be any worse than the controlling, abusive behaviour my kids had to witness.

Like me, a lot of woman or men do not speak out, but there does come a time when enough is enough.

It is tough emotionally and financially for a while, but with the help of agencies who are there to help you, you will get better at finding a new, happy life for yourself and your children.

Staff at the Centre for Domestic Violence are a great bunch of ladies who go above and beyond to help you.

And I for one am forever grateful for them.
