Investigators have been told the 19-year-old girl was sitting on the grass at Rosalind Park on the corner of View Street and Pall Mall around 12pm when she was approached and verbally abused by two teenage boys.
The woman told police she tried to walk away but the duo pushed her to the ground, kicking and punching her in the ribs.
After the assault, the boys ran from the scene in a northerly direction. The woman took herself to the Bendigo Hospital, where she received treatment for bruising.
She later reported the incident to police.
It’s believed the attack unfolded near the gazebo area and investigators are hoping other park users may be able to shed some light on the incident.
The first youth police wish to speak to is described as being Caucasian and aged between 15 and 16, with a heavy build, dark hair and a pierced eyebrow. He was wearing a purple and yellow cap with the word “Lakers” written on it, a grey singlet, black shorts and thongs.
The other boy was also Caucasian and aged between 15 and 16 with blonde hair and a heavy build.
He was wearing a blue coloured t-shirt with the word “Detroit” written across the chest in white, grey shorts and Converse brand shoes.
