I’m proud of the Bendigo Bank’s success

07 Sep, 2010 10:42 PM
WHEN the rain came on Friday night I sought shelter behind the glass facade of the new Bendigo Bank building.

While watching the rain stream down the sheer expanse of glass, I pondered the success of the Bendigo Bank.

I have held my money with the Bendigo Bank since I was a child and it was a building society.

I have travelled the world with my debit card, from rubles in Russia to francs in France (pre-euro).

Most importantly, it has always been my emergency ticket home.

Being with the Bendigo Bank, I have always felt my money was safe, and in turn,

so was I.

A poster in the window tells me the Bendigo Bank Community Bank network has now invested more than $40 million in local community groups and projects across Australia.

I am proud of the national success of Bendigo’s bank, and what this achievement has brought to its customers, employees, shareholders and the community.

As a proud Bendigonian myself, I’m pleased to have played the smallest of parts in this success.

FIONA LIEBERT,

Quarry Hill

Well how nice to hear, yes praise the banks, have you considered what all that glass is like for drivers coming down view street, how it hinders ones vision when the sun is going down, usually around peak hour at the moment, does the nice little notice tell you what community groups the bank has given money too, i believe if they had given all that money to community groups there shouldnt be any struggling community groups in this town at all, i'm glad you enjoy your banking with bendigo bank
