WHEN the rain came on Friday night I sought shelter behind the glass facade of the new Bendigo Bank building.
While watching the rain stream down the sheer expanse of glass, I pondered the success of the Bendigo Bank.
I have held my money with the Bendigo Bank since I was a child and it was a building society.
I have travelled the world with my debit card, from rubles in Russia to francs in France (pre-euro).
Most importantly, it has always been my emergency ticket home.
Being with the Bendigo Bank, I have always felt my money was safe, and in turn,
so was I.
A poster in the window tells me the Bendigo Bank Community Bank network has now invested more than $40 million in local community groups and projects across Australia.
I am proud of the national success of Bendigo’s bank, and what this achievement has brought to its customers, employees, shareholders and the community.
As a proud Bendigonian myself, I’m pleased to have played the smallest of parts in this success.
