Has footy become a summer sport?

Has footy become a summer sport?

What a joke.

The weekend footy was cancelled because of the rain.

Has football become a summer sport?

There are other leagues around Australia that play in mud pits, rain and even snow.

Is the league now setting a precedent for the type of weather that a final has to be played in, and therefore stating that premiership teams will be those that only play well on dry grounds?

You've got it wrong Lachlan! It would have taken a lot of guts to postpone last weekend's footy and I congratulate the league for doing a smart thing. When such severe weather is forecast (and prevails) surely good administrators will bite the bullet for the greater good. Don't forget, it's not just about the football - there is also netball to consider.

"Don't forget, it's not just about the football - there is also netball to consider." And supporters & their entry fee. Both of which would have been well down.

What about the netball is there to consider? They're not that precious they should play in the weather too i think. Money, money, money, thats what this all comes down to. Not these excuses that it wasn't safe for the players and the public.
