Descendants sought for family reunion

17 Mar, 2010 04:00 AM
IN 1841, Charles and Euphemia Yeaman and their six children sailed for Australia aboard the India.

On the way, the ship caught fire and sank off the coast of Brazil.

Charles and his family, which included 11-month-old twins, survived the ordeal and eventually settled in Kyneton.

Charles and Euphemia are buried in the Kyneton cemetery.

Their children moved to Bendigo, Rochester and Tennyson.

The great-great-grandchildren have arranged a family reunion to be held in Echuca on the weekend of April 10-11.

We have contacted many descendants, but if you are one or related to one and would like more information please contact Cherill Johnson (Yeaman) on (02) 6657 1091, email ljo96777@bigpond.net.au or Kay Wearne (Yeaman) on (03) 5482-2872, email wearnebk@mcmedia.com.au
