Creek repairs seem to have been forgotten

08 Sep, 2010 10:42 PM
An issue which our city council has neglected for some years is the damage being done to the Bendigo Creek in the area of Golden Square.

The timber shoring on the walls of the creek in this area are damaged or gone, causing erosion to the bank wall. If not addressed, it will remove the earth and bank at the rear of the Shopping area from Maple Street to the bridge at Wade Street and beyond.

Some years ago council agreed to a program of repair to the creek, which it seems to have forgotten.

BILL COLLIER,

Golden Square

Its not only your area where the creek needs work, it needs work right through to stabilize the walls, clean out the weeds, and keep it flowing, if the water was kept flowing then it would smell like the town has farted so often
