Animal cruelty accused doesn’t deserve bail

02 Feb, 2012 03:00 AM
WHOEVER awarded bail to a man accused of killing and mutilating a defenceless kitten (Pet beheaded in Kangaroo Flat, Bendigo Advertiser, January 25) should have taken a page from a Sydney court last year that denied bail for alleged animal cruelty.

Our judicial system should send a clear message to would-be animal abusers that bail will not be available to perpetrators of these heinous acts.
