9:45 PM AEST | THE ironic thing about Eugene O’Brien’s letter “Locusts pose no threat to humans at all’’ in Monday’s Bendigo Advertiser is that it is always those whose livelihoods are not threatened by plagues of one sort or another who are the first to condemn a solution to the problem.
9:42 PM AEST | WHEN the rain came on Friday night I sought shelter behind the glass facade of the new Bendigo Bank building.

02 Sep 10 | Over the past few weeks, communities in the bush have told the state government they want more fuel reduction burning to better protect them from bushfire.   | CommentsComments (1)
02 Sep 10 | The re-election of Steve Gibbons as the federal member for Bendigo shows once again that Bendigo voters respect Labor MPs and Labor governments that believe in Bendigo and get things done in Bendigo.   | CommentsComments (10)
02 Sep 10 | I was disappointed to read Barbara Pelly’s letter in the Bendigo Advertiser on September 1, of the decision to phase out the teaching of French in local schools.
