BENDIGO has stacked its way to the top at the Australian Sport Stacking Championships held in Melbourne last weekend.
Bendigo Speed Stacks sent five competitors to the championship, which attracted more than 70 participants from all over Australia.
Master speed stacker Jenny McWilliam said a variety of speed stacking events were run at the titles.
“The championship ran the 3-3-3, 3-6-3, cycle and then we had head-to-head and timed relays. “There was also the doubles and parent and child.’’
The Bendigo team consisted of Seth Bish (under-7), Mitchell Kemp (9 years), Jemimah McWilliam (under-11), Spencer McWilliam (under-14) and Jenny McWilliam (Masters).
Junior stacker Mitchell Kemp was crowned Australian sport stacking champion in the 9-years division after winning the 3-3-3, 3-6-3 and cycle events.
The club also brought home 21 medals and four trophies between the group.
Bendigo Speed Stacks is the only club of its kind in Australia, with all other participants at the championships competing for school teams.
