On Saturday night, Sandhurst bounced back from a defeat in its first match of the season by scoring an 18-goal win against Maryborough.

The maroon and blue won 54-36 under the QEO lights. Sandhurst coach Ash Cole earned the four votes in the ASM Netballer of the Year award.

Meaghan Atkins, Teigan Redwood and Claire Gibbs all played well for the maroon and blue.

Maryborough’s best were Laura Clarkson and Alicia Cassidy.

The opening match of the season was Eaglehawk against Gisborne at Canterbury Park on April 5.
