FALCONS is just one win away from capturing an 11th consecutive A grade premiership in the Bendigo Baseball Association.
The Falcons took on Bendigo East in the first leg of the best of three series at Ken Wust Oval in Quarry Hill.
East scored two runs in the first innings, but Falcons replied with 12 in a brilliant start to the contest.
Falcons ace Troy Waterman pitched another six scoreless innings.
Gary Vandermmat racked up three safe hits and took a superb diving catch at centre field.
East’s best were James Clow and Matt Gould.
In the B grade action, Strathfieldsaye Dodgers B1 scored a 17-0 win against Falcons.
In the first inning, Dodgers turned a triple play and shut Falcons down.
The superb pitching by Todd Napaver was backed by excellent play by Dodgers in the field.

The Falcons Raptors dominated the C grade grand final against Strathfieldsaye Dodgers B3.
Stars in a 27-4 win for Falcons included Simon Tatt, Adam Burns and veteran pitcher Terry Smith.
In the under-18 grand final, Falcons scored a 13-1 win against Bendigo East.
A home run by Jake Connaughton gave Falcons a 10-run lead after the second innings.
