STRATHDALE’S Ben Bergmeier was yesterday crowned Mr Teenager at the Victorian championships run by the Australasian Natural Bodybuilding Association.
Bergmeier, 19, was judged No. 1 for his division in the contest held at at the Bundoora campus of La Trobe University.
The victory was just several weeks after being runner-up at what was his first show.
Bergmeier’s feat follows the success of training partner Grant Damon winning the same title a year ago.
“For Ben to win the Victorian championship was a fantastic effort,’’ Damon said.
“He has put a lot of work into training and his diet,’’ Damon said of the duo’s workouts at Feelgood Fitness in Strathdale.
Bergmeier has qualified to contest the national titles in Sydney in a couple of weeks.
Damon’s latest show was at the International Natural Bodybuilding state titles on Saturday at Camberwell.
He was in a field of 13 vying for the Mr Teenage crown.
Damon was fourth overall, with the top five qualifying for nationals.
He is yet to decide if he will compete at nationals, or focus on next month’s Australian final of International Manhunt in Darwin.
