 PIES’ BIG CHANCE

PIES’ BIG CHANCE

14 Aug, 2010 05:00 AM
NOT since July 25 last year has Castlemaine won a game in the Bendigo Football League.

Since their 27-point victory over Sandhurst in round 14 last season, the Magpies have lost their past 20 games.

With only two rounds left in 2010, the Magpies are quickly running out of chances to avoid joining the list of BFL clubs to go thorough a season winless – a list that includes just 11 teams since 1950.

Today on their home ground the Magpies will be hellbent on ending their losing streak of 385 days when they host fellow struggler Gisborne.

The battling Bulldogs haven’t won away from Gardiner Reserve since June 27 last year and sit just one position ahead of the Magpies.

Considering the Magpies face flag contender South Bendigo at the QEO next week, if they are to win a game in 2010, it has to be today.
