JUST two-hundredths of a second separated Chloe McIntosh and Bendigo’s Cait Fraser at the end of yesterday’s division one criterium in the Cykelevents-run Women’s Grand Prix cycling series at Bendigo East.At the end of the 50-minutes and three lap duel on the Mayfar Park circuit, McIntosh just held off Fraser in an exciting finish.Racing for the Torq-Bicycle Superstore team, McIntosh achieved the fastest lap time of 70.94 seconds on the 800m circuit. GALLERY: Bendigo sport action February 11-12A field of 26 contested the division one event in race three of the four-round series.The average speed was 34.5kmh as McIntosh and Fraser, who was racing for BCS Buiding Champions, charged to the line ahead of Amy Bradley, Heidi Buntrock, Lauretta Hanson and Clare Morgan.Leaders after two rounds, Nicole Whitburn and Bendigo’s Kate Finegan did not contest leg three as they headed west for a series of criteriums in Perth. The finale to the Women’s Grand Prix will be on Saturday, March 3, at National Boulevard in Campbellfield.Coburg Cycling Club will host leg four, which will start at 11am.A big day of women’s cycling racing includes the under-17 girls criterium, a prologue, division two and division one.
