30/12/2008 | THE Pontelandolfo brothers, Ryan and Kieren will be aiming to be in the Lindsay Harrington Memorial Wheelrace final at today’s leg of the Christmas cycling carnival series on Bendigo’s track.
Ryan, 19, and Kieren, 16, will be among the many Bendigo-based cyclists pursuing victory in the track classic at the Tom Flood Sports Centre.
The $1800 race is sponsored by the Harrington family and Trevor Baldwin & Associates.

O’Shea, 19, capped a remarkable Cup series at Melbourne’s Hisense Arena by winning the points score, and then teaming with Geelong’s Leigh Howard to be fourth in the 40km madison.

Cooke, 30, is one of the major drawcards on the Cyclismo Bendigo weekend.
The cycling champion from Benalla has gone on to dominate many races around the world.
A remarkable record includes a Tour de France stage win, and Jayco Herald-Sun Tour winner.

O’Shea, 19, captured gold after the 120-lap showdown was decided on the final lap.
The victory at just his third World Cup appearance was the biggest he has achieved in senior ranks.

Others have tried but have not succeeded, in the race which was first run in 1895.
After winning last year’s sprint finish, beating the old record by more than 20 minutes, Decker will be aiming to be at the front at the finish of tomorrow’s 299km battle.
