Kangaroo Flat’s Jake Klemm and Strathdale-Maristians all-rounder Andrew Mead both polled 20 votes in this season’s under-17 action to be joint winners of the prestigious award.
The naming of the Lienhop Award capped last night’s presentation night at the South Bendigo Football Netball Club social rooms at the QEO.
Klemm and his Kangaroo Flat team-mates will be chasing premiership glory when the under-17 grand final against White Hills is competed this Saturday at Strathdale’s Bell Oval.
The Roos and Demons are vying for the John Turner Shield.
Other shields presented last night were the John Hecker Shield to Strathfieldsaye’s under-15A team; the Bernie Fitt Shield to Bendigo United’s under-13 team; and the Norm Perrow Shield to Golden Square’s under-11A line-up.
The Garry Mannix Shield for under-15B premiers was presented to Strathfieldsaye, while the Cliff Hanrahan Shield was awarded to the Strathdale-Maristians Blue under-13Bs.
The Ian Phillips Memorial Award for champion club was won by Golden Square.
Champion player awards were presented by the pennant committee.
