MAIDEN Gully bowler Brett Haw had a dream start to his career in A grade, taking a hat-trick in his first ever division one match.
The 18-year-old worked his magic in Maiden Gully’s match against Marong last weekend, taking 3-49 from eight overs.
Not only did Haw take the first hat-trick of his cricketing career, he did so by dismissing Marong captain Jamie Ross for 14 and knocking off two lower-order batsmen for ducks.
Haw says he was pleased with his first match in A grade and hopes to gain more experience in the higher grade.
“I’ve played about six games in C-grade and a couple in B grade.
“I think they brought me up to A-grade for a bit of experience and because, I guess, I was bowling pretty well.”
The young right-arm medium pace bowler will be playing again in A grade this weekend but admits he doesn’t want to cut ties with the high-performing B grade team.
“I hope to play more games in A grade and get more experience, but B grade actually looks like it might makes the finals.
“So that would also be pretty good to play,” he said.
