THE Bendigo Bank Bendigo District Cricket Association season resumes from its mid-season break today with round nine.Games will be one-dayers starting at 12.30pm.At Canterbury Park, the resurgent Eaglehawk will take on top side Bendigo United in the match of the round. After a slow start to the season, the Hawks have found form with three straight-wins, and can make a big statement today with a victory over the Redbacks, who are a game clear in top spot. The Hawks will go into the game without paceman Richard Tibbett, who is representing Victoria Country at the Australian Country Cricket Championships in Geelong, while the Redbacks will be gunning for their fourth-consecutive victory.● Sandhurst will be striving to continue its push towards the top four when it meets Golden Square at J.L. King Weeroona Oval. The Dragons should go into the game with plenty of confidence after successfully chasing down Bendigo’s 263 at the QEO on the last day before the break.A victory for the sixth-placed Dragons today would draw them level on 30 points with the third-placed Golden Square.● Strathdale-Maristians will be aiming to rebound from its pre-Christmas loss to Strathfieldsaye when it hosts Huntly-North Bendigo at Bell Oval. However, the Suns will be without the BDCA’s most dominant player this season in Cameron Taylor, who is unavailable. With Taylor not playing, captain Linton Jacobs will step up to open the batting alongside the out-of-form Travis King.● Kangaroo Flat travels to White Hills aiming to kickstart its season. The Roos have won just one game, but have had the wood over White Hills for more than a dozen years. The Roos welcome back all-rounder Tim Robertson, while the Demons will be captained by Aaron Monro in place of Gavin Bowles.Meanwhile, the second XI clash between the two clubs will be played at Dower Park from 3.30pm as a day-night game. It will be the first BDCA match played under lights for premiership points.● Bottom side Bendigo meets Strathfieldsaye at Tannery Lane. This game had been earmarked as the return match for Goers’ batsman Matthew Elliott, but he hasn’t been picked as he continues to be hampered by a knee injury.
