31 Jan, 2012 03:00 AM
A 400 metre record held by AFL star Joel Selwood was one of two records broken in Friday night’s Bendigo Little Athletics meeting.

Joshua Powell recorded 55.03 seconds in the 400 metres to slip under Joel Selwood’s record of 55.37 seconds, which had stood since January, 2003.

In the 70 metres, Joshua Henthorn created a new record of 8.78 seconds, breaking Blake Pryse’s record of 9.04 seconds set last year.

Powell had a successful night, equalling the record of 9.04 in the same race.

Henthorn also holds the under-11, under-13 and under-14 70m records as well as the under-13 triple jump record. Competition this week will be Friday night, beginning at 5pm.
