BMX on a cycle of success

BMX on a cycle of success

1/11/2008 8:20:00 AM
WINNING a major event in Wodonga has focused the Bendigo BMX Club on the chance of representing Australia at future Olympic Games.

BMX Club representative Michael White said 14 members had competed in a field of 130 riders.

Winning was also based on the turnout of members from each club, and Bendigo won the day with 14 out of a total of 25 members.

Mr White said the inclusion of BMX in the Olympics had raised awareness of the sport.

“Many of the boys are openly saying that their ambition is to wear the green and gold,’’ he said.

“We have signed up several new members recently but could certainly do with more.’’

The Bendigo BMX club is in Victoria Street, Eaglehawk, close to the Recovery Centre.
