05 Feb, 2012 03:08 PM
A BENDIGO woman has been airlifted to the Royal Melbourne hospital in a critical condition after a cycling accident in Kangaroo Flat this afternoon.

The 56-year-old sustained serious head injuries around 1pm.

Ambulance Victoria spokesman John Mullen said the woman was in a critical condition.

"They will be inducing her into a coma with apparatus breathing for her," he said.

The air ambulance landed in the Rocklea Homemaker Centre car park on High Street.
