A truck clipping a sprinkler in a drive thru bottle shop caused the evacuation of Centro Lansell at Kangaroo Flat this afternoon.
The sprinkler set off the shopping centre's fire alarm system and shoppers were asked to leave the building.
People were allowed back into the centre about 2.15pm.
CFA crews identified a burst water pipe as the alarm trigger.
