ALMOST 150 La Trobe University Bendigo students received financial scholarships and prizes at a special ceremony at The Capital theatre last night.
Among the many recipients was Master of Education Bendigo campus student Pamela Lyons, who won the university-wide Pauline Toner Award.
The award is offered to a student who has made significant contributions in the fields of social issues, education or the environment.
Bendigo resident and Bachelor of Behavioural Science Bundoora campus student Willie-Ann Prosser was the recipient of the Harvey Naghten Memorial Award.
The award is presented to a student who has demonstrated involvement in student or community activities.
Other recipients received Bendigo campus-based awards, including Bachelor of Commerce graduate Merryn Rogan, who marked her success with five awards.
PhD candidate Penny Davies, and Master of Education student Jennifer Heinrich, were joint winners of the inaugural City of Greater Bendigo Community Leadership Award.
"These prizes and awards recognise outstanding achievements by our students and I extend my congratulations to them all," Bendigo campus Executive director Lorraine Ling said.
"Each and every one of these students is a fine example of the high standards that can be achieved through dedication and hard work."
