Strath centre gets OK

STRATHDALE Child Care Centre has been awarded full accreditation for the fifth successive time.The accreditation was made by the National Childcare Accreditation Council.City of Greater Bendigo manager of family services Rosalie Rogers said accreditation is the national quality assurance program for all child-care centres.The process is undertaken every two years.“Accredited centres operate to a very high standard,’’ said Ms Rogers.“To obtain and maintain accreditation of a centre requires a big ongoing commitment by staff, parents and family members.’’Ms Rogers said the Strathdale Child Care Centre will proudly display its accreditation certificate along with a graph that shows that the centre operates to the highest standards in all areas.“Staff at Strathdale Child Care Centre provide a warm and supportive environment for the children in their care and they regularly undertake training programs to ensure their skills are maintained and updated.’’Bendigo Mayor Cr David Jones said the accreditation was a wonderful achievement for the centre.“It reinforces the commitment by the staff to continuously review the service and maintain the high quality of care and education for the children attending the centre.“All our child-care centres are continually being recognised for their high standards and the staff, parents and community should be very proud.“Council is committed to providing excellent child care that best promotes and nurtures children’s learning and development in their vital early years.’’
