Set for seventies comeback

28 Jul, 2008 09:39 AM
YEAR 9 Catholic College students yesterday put the final touches to their moves and grooves for a performance of 1970s blockbuster Grease.

Opening on Wednesday ahead of the 30th anniversary of the film's American debut on August 1, record ticket sales are proving Grease is as popular now as it was then.

Tickets are the fastest selling multi-performance show in the history of the Capital Theatre. The original three performances sold out in a day and an extra show was booked in just three hours.

Students will perform such classics as Summer Loving, Look at Me, I'm Sandra

Dee and Greased Lightening, made famous by Olivia Newton-John and John Travolta.

Young performers are involved in all aspects of the musical, from performing to set and costume design, publicity and technical production.
