Seniors go festive in a big way

7/10/2008 9:02:00 AM
CITY of Greater Bendigo Mayor Cr David Jones launched the 2008 Bendigo Victorian Seniors Festival yesterday.

The Victorian Seniors Festival is one of the state's most enduring festivals and this year the festival theme is `Be inspired'.

Cr Jones said the festival encouraged participation by exposing older people to a broad range of recreational activities and interests.

More than 30 events and activities will take place across the city of Greater Bendigo during the festival.

The program includes yesterday's country music concert featuring Marcie Jones, a veterans tennis tournament, organised tours and walks, films, afternoon teas and a photographic exhibition.

More information on the week-long festival is available from the City of Greater Bendigo.
