To celebrate the region’s best food, wine and arts, the ‘Life’s A Dish’ program was officially launched on Friday at La Piazza.
The program encourages visitors and residents to collect all seven “Life’s A Dish” plates from participating restaurants, collect a stamp and redeem their free Bendigo Master Plate from the Bendigo Visitor Centre.
City of Greater Bendigo executive manager of tourism Kathryn Mackenzie said the council was supporting the program that began in Bendigo in 2006 to showcase local eateries.
She said the Bendigo food and wine scene was rapidly changing and evolving. “As part of the evolution, the Life’s a Dish program has been refreshed,” Ms Mackenzie said.
“It was inspired by Buon Ricordo, a Northern Italian concept which showcases regional specialties in food and wine, and involves a collectable dish being offered to restaurant patrons.
“It is truly a fusion of Bendigo’s best food, wine and the arts, and offers an interesting way for visitors to explore our region.”
Life’s A Dish is a partnership between seven Bendigo restaurants, Bendigo Pottery, Bendigo Tourism and the City of Greater Bendigo.
The restaurants involved include Domaine Asmara, Gallery Cafe, Hotel Shamrock, La Piazza, Malayan Orchid, Quills and Twenty2.
