THE Bendigo Stadium has been given the green light to install 30 poker machines.

The Victorian Commission for Gambling Regulation approved the application today.

The approval brings the total number of poker machines at the Marong Road stadium to 105.

City of Greater Bendigo director of planning and development Prue Mansfield said she was disappointed with the decision.

“We will need to review it in more detail before considering where to from here and the planning permit application, which is a separate process from the VCGR approval, is yet to be decided by Council,” she said.

“It is likely this will happen at the Council meeting on September 28.”
