The three centres have faced the threat of closure since ABC Learning went into receivership in November.

NurtureOne has successfully purchased 23 ABC Learning centres in regional Victoria and NSW.

“We appreciate that all the staff at these centres have been very concerned about their future and we can confirm that every one will be offered continued employment with us,” NurtureOne chief executive Geoffrey Hamilton said.

“It’s important for us to work with the staff and make sure they are well supported.”

NurtureOne, based in Wagga Wagga, is owned and operated by Geoffrey and Jan Hamilton who have spent more than 15 years working in the child-care industry, including operating centres and designing and building new centres in regional areas.

“NurtureOne is a very small regional-based company and we understand the regional market,” Mr Hamilton said.

“We have spoken to all of the directors at each of the centres we will be taking over and within the next two weeks either myself, my wife Jan or our area manager Julia Ham will visit the centres and meet with the staff.

“We have spoken to some of the staff over the phone and so far the response has been overwhelming.

“They are happy that the centre is going to remain functioning, but more importantly they are happy that the centre is being taken over by somebody that knows something about child care,” Mr Hamilton said.

“We are going to support the staff and let them do what they do best, which is provide a child-care service.” NurtureOne will take over the the centres by May 15.
