A man has been arrested in the state's north-west after police discovered what they believe to be more than 2000 child pornography images.
Police said the arrest was made when investigators seized laptops and hard drives from a property in central Victoria about 2pm yesterday.
The man has been charged with various child pornography offences and will appear at Maryborough Magistrates Court in May.
Detectives from the Ballarat Sexual Offences and Child Investigation Team, the Sexual Crime Squad, the Internet Child Exploitation Team and the E-Crime Squad were involved in the investigation.
