A major flood warning for the Loddon River near Appin South and Kerang is still in place.
The Bureau of Meteorology issued the warning early this morning and expects the Loddon River in Appin South to peak at almost 3.2 metres this weekend. It is currently at 2.31 metres and rising.
Kerang is bracing for stream rises in the Loddon over the the next several days as flood waters work their way downstream from the Loddon Weir. A peak forcast is yet to be provided. A flood information meeting will be held tomorrow at 5pm at the Kerang Memorial Hall in Nolan Street.
Meanwhile, since 9am yesterday no significant rainfall has been recorded in the Loddon catchment but rainfalls of 10 to 20mm have been forecast tomorrow.
Stream levels from the Loddon catchment to Laanecoorie reservoir are now below minor flood levels, with the Loddon River downstream of Laanecoorie peaking at 6.1 metres around midnight last Saturday and now sitting at 2.10 metres and falling.
The Loddon River downstream from the Loddon Weir peaked on Monday afternoon at 7.02 metres and is sitting above the moderate flood level at 6.49 metres.
