Horror day on central Victorian roads

IT has been a horror day on central Victorian roads with two separate fatalities.The incidents, which happened within minutes of each other about 3pm, were at Denver and Springfield.Police are still on the scene at both incidents.The Denver incident happened on the Daylesford-Malmsbury Road.Police believe the driver lost control of the vehicle and it left the road near an intersection with Suttons Lane.A woman, believed to be a rear passenger, died at the scene.Two other passengers received minor injuries and were trapped in the car after it had rolled.Paramedics transported two passengers to Ballarat Hospital.The second incident occurred at the intersection of Romsey Road and Springfield Road at Springfield.Police believe a motorcycle and car collided, killing a male rider.Initial reports suggest the man was 24 but police are yet to confirm this.The man had been riding with other motorcycles, who were ahead of him on the road.The deaths take the provisional road toll to 12, four higher than the same time last year.Police are diverting traffic around both incidents.Police have appealed for anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or visit www.crimestoppers.com.au
