Guilty plea on stabbing charge

07 Nov, 2009 04:00 AM
A MAN accused of being involved in a Flora Hill assault that left two victims with stab wounds has pleaded guilty.

Shaun Ronald Nolan (also known as Shaun Ronald Kirby), 22, appeared in Bendigo Magistrates Court yesterday where he entered a guilty plea to charges of aggravated burglary and armed robbery, and two counts of intentionally causing injury.

Nolan was arrested with two other men in the early hours of April 29 after allegedly breaking into a house about 1.30am.

Police say an altercation took place, then two occupants of the house were stabbed.

Two males, a 17-year-old and a 20-year-old, suffered minor stab wounds and were treated at Bendigo Hospital.

The co-accused, Nathan John Stevens, 24, and Liam Measures, 20, pleaded guilty to the same charges in July.

At a court appearance on the day after the arrest, Stevens sported two black eyes, allegedly sustained while he was being held by the victims before being arrested.

Measures and Nolan, former Eaglehawk housemates, were allegedly found near the scene after a canine unit was brought in from Melbourne.

The three men will face the Bendigo County Court in July next year for sentencing.
