DOWNTOWN Bendigo played host to a major fashion event last night as part of Bendigo Fashion Week.
Capturing the style and essence of the CBD, the fashion parade was also a fundraiser for St Luke’s, with a silent auction and red carpet photos helping support a very worthy cause.
Many of the city’s leading fashion retailers banded together for the parade to showcase some of the exciting spring fashions available in the Downtown Bendigo area.
The event was just one of what has been a very busy Bendigo Fashion Week, with 14-year-old Castlemaine student Karlee O’Donnell one of the star attractions.
Karlee had earlier won the Bendigo heat of Miss Country Girl Australia, a community-based national model search for girls with the potential to reach the national and international modelling circuit.
Yesterday also saw celebrities compete in a styling competition at the Bendigo Marketplace.
The Ready Steady Style contestants challenged with dressing a mannequin in fashions from the Bendigo Marketplace included Citizen of the Year Michael McKern, Bendigo Advertiser general manager Margot Falconer, STAR FM hosts Al and AD, and Bendigo Magazine’s Andrea Coates and Maggie Stewart who were named overall winners.
