Dunolly resident David Jennings said the flood water has isolated the town from outside assistance."There is no chance of anyone getting between Bendigo and here, it's that bad," he said."One side of the railway line is being flooded and so is the other side at the same time."Anyone living with 1km of Broadway (the main street) here can't get out, we're basically isolated."Nobody can get through, the only way in and out is by railway so we'll be getting some supplies sent through that way."Jennings, who lived through Dunolly's '100 year floods' 30 years ago, said today's flood situation is worse than anything he had seen before."We had floods here 30 years ago and I can tell you this time is much worse than that.""They called them the 100 year floods but this will turn out to be much, much worse and we're preparing for more water to come in today and tomorrow."Meanwhile, residents in the small town of Carisbrook, near Maryborough, are being evacuated as floodwaters inundate the town.Police are door-knocking residents and asking them to go to go to Howard and Victoria Street where they will then be evacuated to Maryborough.Resident Jackie O'Connor is among them, and has been evacuated with his wife and two dogs from their Smith Street home. "The whole street is under water," he said. "We are all getting evacuated."It's all around the homes."Fellow Carisbrook resident Peter Blazko said they were helping to evacuate residents but were planning to stay at their Curragh Moor Road property to protect their home and animals. Mr Blazko said the whole town had virtually been evacuated, and that floodwaters were rising. He said in some parts the water was three to four feet deep. Water is up to the door of their house, and their sheds are underwater. Mr Blazko said he believed the water was running away from his house so he should be OK."We should be right but who know's," he said. He said they had recorded 196.5mm this week at Carisbrook.
