Downtown Bendigo to rock

02 Sep, 2010 10:30 PM
DADS will be spoilt for choice tomorrow when the Downtown Bendigo bikes, rock and

rods day hits Hargreaves Mall.

There will be plenty of chrome and bling all round with a display of Harley Davidsons and other road bikes, plus hot rods, scooters and vintage cars from across the region.

Covers band The Rockin’ Donkeys will be thumping out all the classics and there will be

free face painting, a jumping castle and balloons for the

children.

Bendigo Traders Association marketing co-ordinator Leigh Sharp said the event had been planned to coincide with Father’s Day shopping.

“Downtown Bendigo has some of the best Father’s Day gifts on offer,’’ he said.

“This event will fascinate and entertain people that are looking for those last-minute presents for Dad.

“We are very grateful to the central Victorian branch of the Ulysses club, the Victorian Japanese Motorcycle Club,

the State Rodders, the scooter

club and the vintage car club.

“Without their enthusiasm this event would not have happened.”

The Father’s Day event will begin in the Hargreaves Mall at 10am and finish at 2pm.
