AN Epsom woman is hoping her beloved pet will pull through after a vicious dog attack on Monday.Katherine Botham’s 11-year-old Jack Russell terrier Luigi was attacked by two dogs while walking in Howard Street. One of the dogs attacked Luigi while the other attempted to attack Ms Botham’s four-month-old cross-breed puppy.Ms Botham was able to protect the pup, but Luigi suffered serious injuries to its stomach and groin. The dogs that attacked Ms Botham’s pets appeared to be Staffordshire terriers. The attack has been reported to the City of Greater Bendigo and Bendigo Police, but Ms Botham said she’s concerned the dogs will strike again before being found.“Had it been a little kid it would have been terrible,” she said.“We managed to pull a collar off one of them but it was just a little blue thing, no identification. One bloke followed them to see where they went but couldn’t find them.”Ms Botham said she didn’t know who owned the dogs. Ms Botham said Luigi was recovering from surgery and his condition seemed to be improving.
